8th Annual 2019 GR Games! 80's THROWBACK!!

8 years of the 8th Day Games and we're celebrating with an 80's themed weekend. The workouts will be gnarly and the judges and volunteers totally rad!

Two divisions, and on separate days. Rx will be on Saturday and Modified will be on Sunday.

Teams will be 3 person and single gender. All three athletes will participate in each workout. Format is three MetCon events, one collective test of athleticism, and a final fourth championship workout for the top teams. All movements and workouts will be released ahead of the event date. This competition will test all-around CF ability including: endurance, heavy work capacity, skill, power production, speed and strength. Workouts are balanced, creative, and designed to protect the athlete from injury. Bring your 'A' game.

This competition will have an Rx & Modified Division. It's strongly recommended that anyone competing in this event have at least one year of competition experience under his or her belt.

The Rx division has historically been one of the more challenging competitions in Michigan. Weights are heavy, skill ability is a must (MU, pistols), and time caps are tight. Examples of weights that at least one member of your team should be able to lift:

MEN
Snatch - 185
Clean - 245
Deadlift - 315

WOMEN
Snatch - 95
Clean - 135
Deadlift - 200

The modified/scaled division, however, is for anyone. Expectations are at or below what you might find in a general functional fitness class. There will be limited skill requirements such as HSPU, muscle ups, or pistols. It would, however, be important that at least one member of your team be able to perform movements such as pull-ups, double unders, or box jumps (20/24). Examples of weights that at least one member of your team should be able to lift:

MEN
Snatch - 95
Clean - 135
Deadlift - 200

WOMEN
Snatch - 45
Clean - 95
Deadlift - 135

If you have a team together and there's still a weight or movement that you are concerned about...don't fret about it. You can still scale the weight or movement even further. Worst case scenario, you get a little asterisk by your team's name on the results. If this hasn't cleared it up enough for you, don't hesitate to post your specific concern. Once you sign up for an event 100% of all fees are NON-REFUNDABLE. The MAXIMUM refund granted will be 90% of registration cost (i.e. a 10% service fee will apply to ALL refunds). At 21 days prior to an event the MAXIMUM refund granted will be 50% of registration cost. Once registration is closed, there will be NO refunds granted. ALL refund requests MUST be sent via E-MAIL ONLY to Events@8thdaygym.com
