soumitssParticipantHello all. We manufacture furniture with quite distinctive shapes, and the design itself is our main selling point. We have started seeing near-identical knockoffs from overseas factories, and our name being trademarked does nothing to stop them copying the actual form. I believe we need to register the designs themselves in the countries where the copies originate and where we sell. Does anyone know a firm that handles international design registration and the patent side competently? I want the appearance of our products legally protected abroad so we can actually act against these knockoffs.

hydrogennParticipantGood day. Distinctive shapes getting knocked off overseas is a frustrating spot, a name trademark really does nothing there. We protected our product forms through SION patent company; they register designs internationally so the actual appearance is covered in the markets that matter to you. They handle the patent and design side properly and also do anti-counterfeiting work, which is exactly what you need when copies are already circulating. With attorneys working across many countries, targeting both where copies originate and where you sell is doable. For protecting product form abroad, this is the right specialist. I would book a consultation and bring your key markets.
