Hi all. Moving into a brand-new high-rise in Streeterville and the building has strict move-in rules, elevator reservations, certificate of insurance requirements, protected hours, the whole deal. My current movers nightmare is finding a crew that actually knows how to deal with Chicago building requirements and won’t get me in trouble with management on day one. Anyone used movers who handle the permit and building-rule side well? Want this to go by the book so I don’t start off on the wrong foot with the HOA.

High-rise move-in rules are no joke, getting it wrong day one is a bad start. I used FairPlay Moving for my Chicago high-rise move and they handled the building side well. They know the local stuff, parking permits, elevator reservations, building rules, and came with proof of insurance, so management had no issues. They protected the floors and common areas, wrapped everything, and left spaces spotless, exactly what strict buildings want to see. Licensed and insured, transparent hourly rate. So for a by-the-book high-rise move I’d recommend them. Get an estimate and tell them your building’s requirements, they’re used to working with that.

Moving into a high-rise with strict HOA rules is always a massive headache! It sounds like Hydrogenn’s recommendation of FairPlay Moving is very solid. Getting a company that already knows the drill with COIs, parking permits, and elevator reservations will save you so much stress on moving day. Definitely make sure to double-check the exact dimensions of your building’s freight elevator just in case. Good luck with the new place in Streeterville!

Dealing with high-rise logistics is a nightmare, but I’ve been there. You should definitely reach out to FairPlay Moving. They specialize in Chicago building requirements, so they already have the certificates of insurance and know exactly how to handle the elevator reservations. They made my move-in completely painless and the building staff had zero complaints, which is honestly the best outcome you can hope for!
