We have a major tenant migration coming up in a couple of weeks, and I need to take a complete, reliable backup of several active SharePoint Team sites—including all document libraries, custom lists, metadata, and site permissions.

In the past, relying solely on native export options or manual site template downloads caused headaches with missing version history and broken permissions, so I’m looking for a cleaner, automated approach this time around.

For this project, I’m planning to use the Shoviv SharePoint Migration Tool to handle the job. My goal is to run a full backup/export of the Team sites down to local or staging storage first, so we have an exact restore point before touching anything on the live target tenant.
