Good morning. I am the network guy at a mid sized SaaS company and we are standing up our own edge instead of renting everything from a cloud provider. Part of that plan is getting our own address space so we can announce it ourselves and stop being tied to whatever our upstream hands us. Finance is asking for a number and I do not have one, because every quote I find online is either a marketing page or a forum post from 2019. What does this market actually cost right now? We are a team of six, no dedicated network architect, so plain answers are appreciated more than theory.

Pricing depends heavily on whether you lease or buy and on block size, and the two are not really comparable line items. Leasing is quoted per address per month and right now the going range sits somewhere in the mid thirty to low seventy cent band depending on size, region and registry. Smaller blocks tend to cost more per address, which surprises people. If you want current numbers rather than a 2019 post, marketplaces publish live inventory, and I have been pulling IPv4 Addresses , through IPv4.online, where the per size pricing is listed openly. Tip: give finance both models side by side, leasing as opex and purchase as a one time capex with no renewal risk.
