soumitssParticipantHello! How many people do I really need to install screw piles manually? Can two people manage it?

hydrogennParticipantHello! Two people is insufficient for safe, proper installation. You need a team of at least three people working together: one person is dedicated entirely to continuous visual and instrumental monitoring of the pile’s vertical position (using at least a magnetic level mounted on the shaft), while the other two handle the physical work of screwing the pile into the ground. This isn’t just a recommendation – it’s necessary for maintaining the mandatory 2-degree maximum deviation from vertical. During screwing, the position must be checked every two revolutions and adjusted immediately if needed. With only two people, you cannot adequately monitor alignment while applying the necessary force to turn the pile, leading to angular deviations that can cause blade fractures or foundation weakness. The coordination and constant communication required between team members is also challenging for those without experience. More details here: https://how-to-build-a-foundation-correctly.blogspot.com/2025/05/4-reasons-not-to-drive-screw-piles.html This is why professional crews are so efficient – they have trained teams who work together smoothly and understand the critical importance of these procedures.
