soumitssParticipantJust bought a circular above-ground pool and need to figure out how much water to order. The pool is 15 feet across and 4 feet deep. How many gallons is that?

hydrogennParticipantGreat question! Use this Pool volume calculator specifically designed for circular pools. You just enter the diameter (15 feet) and depth (4 feet) and it calculates the volume for you. For your pool, that works out to approximately 5,300 gallons. This is super important to know for several reasons: 1) Ordering water delivery – you need to know exactly how much to request, 2) Chemical treatment – all pool chemicals are dosed based on water volume, 3) Filter and pump sizing – you need equipment rated for your pool volume, 4) Heating costs – if you’re adding a heater, volume affects cost. Pro tips: Don’t fill it completely to the top – leave about 6 inches of space to prevent overflow. That means you’ll actually need closer to 4,500 gallons. Also, plan for the fill time – if you’re using a garden hose, it might take 12-24 hours to fill! Consider having water delivered by truck if you’re in a hurry. Make sure to use the calculator for chemical calculations too – getting the chlorine and pH wrong can damage the pool or irritate skin. And remember, water is heavy – 5,300 gallons weighs over 44,000 pounds! Make sure your ground is level and properly prepared.
