Comparing a few maintenance contracts and my head is spinning, what actually matters?

 

I’m trying to decide between a couple of maintenance contract options for BMW near ICAD that I’ve been quoted, and honestly the fine print is doing my head in. One seems to cover more but costs a chunk more per month, the other is cheaper but has a list of exclusions that I don’t fully understand, and I keep wondering if I’m overcomplicating this and should just pick the middle one. The thing is I don’t want to lock into something that leaves me paying extra the first time something actually goes wrong, which kind of defeats the whole point of a contract in my mind. Has anyone else compared these contracts and figured out what’s genuinely worth paying for versus what’s just padding? I’m not chasing the absolute cheapest, I just want to know I’m not signing up for something that sounds comprehensive but quietly excludes the stuff that tends to fail on these cars. Any pointers on what to check before committing would be really appreciated.
