lunarSpark27ParticipantOkay so this is kind of embarrassing but my car has been slowly falling apart on the inside and I kept ignoring it hoping the problem would just go away on its own. It started with a tiny sag in the headliner near the rear window and I thought I could just pin it up or something, but fast forward a few months and the entire fabric is now hanging down and touching my kids heads in the back seat. Every time I open the sunroof it gets worse because the air catches it and pulls more of it loose, so I’ve just stopped using the sunroof altogether which defeats the whole purpose of having it in the first place. I tried one of those DIY headliner repair kits from the hardware store and honestly it was a total disaster, the adhesive didn’t hold and now I have this sticky residue on the fabric that looks even worse than the sagging did. I think at this point I need to just accept that I need professional help because the foam backing is clearly deteriorating and there’s no quick fix for that. I’m thinking about getting the whole thing redone with a darker material that won’t show stains as easily because the light gray was a terrible choice for a family car anyway. Has anyone gone through this process recently and can give me an idea of what to expect in terms of cost and turnaround time? I came across Proven Car Upholstery at 800Sayara Abu Dhabi in my searches and they seem to do a lot of interior work, but I’d really love to hear from someone who’s actually been through the process with them before I commit to anything.
