Welcome competitors, family, friends, vendors, sponsors, helpers, and spectators to the:

2024 APEX ATHLETICS: FLORIDA RECORD BREAKERS!

We are very excited to be the first state level competition that will be allowing ALL available records up for grabs. Some records are ready to be broken and some have never been set before. We are also going to be opening up “Adaptive-standing” & “Adaptive-seated” classes for Florida State level records!

PLEASE NOTE:

            Weights listed are the current records for the particular weight-class and the max weights currently set.  For “Farmers Hold”, weight is set and must be held for max time. 

If the weight tab says “TBD”, it means the record has not been set yet!

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:

All entries must be submitted by July 28th, 2024, at 11:59PM. Iron Podium is the only form of entry. Order of entry DOES NOT matter. No refunds will be issued.

ALL ATHLETES MUST OBTAIN USS MEMBERSHIP EITHER AT REGISTRATION OR AT CHECK IN. CAN NOT COMPETE WITHOUT MEMEBERSHIP!

National Qualifier

This is not a competition but a chance to break records. No USS Nationals opportunity with this event. But, this is Sanctioned with United States Strongman!

EVENT RULES:  *Subject to change - all current information listed here & updated if there are changes.

FOR ALL EVENTS:

  1. Competition shirt MUST be worn (Unless Event Specified)
  2. No Strongman Corp. Grip Shirt!!!
  3. No bare feet (must have at least knee-high socks on)
  4. No tacky or sticky substance WHATSOEVER!
  5. No gloves!
  6. No build up belts (only one hard and one soft)
  7. No Novice classes! Everyone has chance to set or break record no matter the level of experience!
  8. All Classes DEADLIFT SUITS OR BRIEFS ALLOWED!
  9. Any athlete who leaks any body fluids (blood, urine, vomit, etc.) on the competition floor must help clean it up!
  10. Athletes may attempt as many different events as the athlete wishes.
  11. Athletes will be asked to list which events he/she plans to attempt 1 week before Event Day!

Official Signed Certificates given out to all who Set & Break a record!

Multiple events will be set up for multiple competitors to simultaneously make record breaking attempts. 

 

EVENT 1: Max Deadlift

Time: 30sec.

Attempts: (3) per athlete if record has not been set!

                  (2) per athlete if record has been previously set!

Scoring: Max weight lifted with lock out confirmed by judge!

  1. 9in Deadlift bar
  2. Athletes may start strapped in.
  3. 30sec. time limit to lift weights.
  4. Must wait for down command for lift to count.
  5. All supportive gear allowed.
  6. Adaptive athletes’ adjustments for seated will be done.

EVENT 2: Max Deadlift 18”

Time: 30sec.

Attempts: (3) per athlete if record has not been set!

                  (2) per athlete if record has been previously set!

Scoring: Max weight lifted with lock out confirmed by judge!

  1. 18” Deadlift Bar
  2. Athletes may start strapped in.
  3. 30sec. time limit to lift weights.
  4. Must wait for down command for lift to count.
  5. All supportive gear allowed.
  6. Adaptive athletes’ adjustments for seated will be done.

EVENT 3: Max Axle Deadlift 18”

Time: 30sec.

Attempts: (3) per athlete if record has not been set!

                  (2) per athlete if record has been previously set!

Scoring: Max weight lifted with lock out confirmed by judge!

  1. 18” Axle Deadlift
  2. Athletes may start strapped in.
  3. 30sec. time limit to lift weights.
  4. Must wait for down command for lift to count.
  5. All supportive gear allowed.
  6. Adaptive athletes’ adjustments for seated will be done.

All supporting gear allowed.

EVENT 4: Max Axle Clean & Press

Time: 30sec.

Attempts: (3) per athlete if record has not been set!

                  (2) per athlete if record has been previously set!

Scoring: Max weight lifted with lock out confirmed by judge!

  1. 9” Axle Bar
  2. Athletes may have hands on bar.
  3. 30sec. time limit to lift weights.
  4. Must wait for down command for lift to count.
  5. All supportive gear allowed.
  6. Adaptive athletes’ adjustments for seated will be done.

EVENT 5: Max Log Clean & Press

Time: 30sec.

Attempts: (3) per athlete if record has not been set!

                  (2) per athlete if record has been previously set!

Scoring: Max weight lifted with lock out confirmed by judge!

  1. 10” Log for Females / 12” Log for Males
  2. Athletes may start with hands on log.
  3. 30sec. time limit to lift weights.
  4. Must wait for down command for lift to count.
  5. All supportive gear allowed.
  6. Adaptive athletes’ adjustments for seated will be done.

Event 6: Farmers Hold

Time: Max Time

Attempts: (1) per athlete to either set or break record!

                     IF athletes drop weight in 1st 10sec. 1 do-over may be given!

Scoring: Max time held from lift off to the moment implement hits ground!

  1. Valor Side Loading Farmers
  2. Athletes may start strapped in.
  3. Max time limit to lift and hold weight.
  4. Time stops once 1 or both implements touch ground.
  5. No suits, straps, figure 8's, no tacky.
  6. Chalk Allowed
  7. Adaptive athletes’ adjustments for seated will be done.

Event 7: Max 30’ Yoke Walk

Time: 60sec

Attempts: (1) per athlete to either set or break record!

                     IF athletes drop weight in 1st 10ft. 1 do-over may be given!

Scoring: Max weight lifted with 30ft carry to finish line!

  1. Valor Fitness Yoke
  2. Athletes may start under yoke.
  3. 60sec. time limit to carry weight 30ft.
  4. Time DOES NOT matter BUT WEIGHT DOES.
  5. 30ft NO DROPS
  6. If drop occurs after 10ft you fail your attempt.
  7. All supportive gear allowed.
  8. Adaptive athletes’ adjustments for seated will be done.

Event 8: Max Circus Dumbbell Clean & Press

Time: 30sec.

Attempts: (3) per athlete if record has not been set!

                  (2) per athlete if record has been previously set!

Scoring: Max weight lifted with lock out confirmed by judge!

  1. 10” CDB for Females / 12” CDB for Males
  2. Athletes may start with hands on CDB.
  3. 30sec. time limit to lift weights.
  4. Must wait for down command for lift to count.
  5. 2 arms to clean CDB, 1 arm to press CDB.
  6. Must maintain locked arm and judge eye contact.
  7. All supportive gear allowed.
  8. Adaptive athletes’ adjustments for seated will be done.

Event 9: Max Reps Axle Press Away

Time: 60sec.

Attempts: (1) per athlete to either set or break record!

Scoring: Max reps with full lock out and bar must reset below chin confirmed by judge!

  1. Valor Axle Bar
  2. Athletes may start hands on bar.
  3. 60sec. time limit for press away.
  4. Must wait for down command for each rep to count.
  5. Bar will be set at athletes desired racked height below chin level.
  6. All supportive gear allowed.
  7. Adaptive athletes’ adjustments for seated will be done.

            Weights listed are the current records for the particular weight-class and the max weights currently set. For “Farmers Hold” weight is set weight must be held for max time.
