-***NEW FOR 2026: Athlete must wear the provided competition shirt for all of the events.  Grip shirts are allowed, but must be worn underneath the competition shirt***

THE LOG LIFT

(Men 12”, Women 10”)

opening weight 100#

- Athlete will have 60 seconds to complete the lift after being given the go ahead from the judge. The log must be controlled back to the ground. (No throwing of the implement). The log does not need to be returned to the chest on the descent, only controlled to the ground.

- Any dropped lift will result in a failed lift and will not count. If you are told your lift does not count, you may attempt it again providing you still have time within your allotted 60 seconds for that particular lift.

- Each athlete has 3 attempts.

- Lift is completed when the judge calls “down”. To receive the “down” call, the lifter must have knees, hips and shoulders locked out and head “through”.

- If the athlete successfully locks out a rep just before the buzzer but then drops the implement in an uncontrolled way, the rep will not count.

Not allowed: Two belts (one above the other on the torso), a loop in the belt, tacky, straps, and grip shirts from outside federations. The log cannot be rested on the top of the head during the lift.

Allowed: Chalk, belts, an under belt and an over belt, wraps, sleeves, and “equipped” elbow sleeves (one item per joint). Grip shirts must be worn underneath competition shirt.

THE DEADLIFT

(Axle bar w/ wagon wheels @ ~18” from middle of bar )

opening weight 115#

- Athlete will have 60 seconds to complete the lift after the whistle blows. Any dropped lift will result in a failed lift and will not count. If you are told your lift does not count, you may attempt it again providing you still have time within your allotted 60 seconds for that particular lift.

- A conventional stance deadlift is mandatory. No Sumo stance allowed, no Jefferson deadlifts or any other variation. Hands must be outside the knees for the entire duration of the lift.

- Each athlete has 3 attempts.

- Lift is completed when the judge calls “down”. To receive the “down” call, the lifter must have knees, hips and shoulders locked out.

Not allowed: Long figure 8 straps with “fingertips” being the only thing touching the bar, tacky, “Eddie Halls”, and bouncing.

Allowed: Chalk, straps, figure 8 straps, deadlift suits, belts, wraps, and sleeves.

SANDBAG TO SHOULDER

(Men 200# 250# 275#, Women 100# 150# 200#)

- This event will be scored off a points system, meaning there can be ties.  All the men’s classes will be using the 200#, 250#, and 275# sandbags.  All the women’s classes will be using the 100#, 150#, and 200# sandbags.  The lightest bag will be worth 1 point, middle bag worth 2 points, and heaviest bag worth 3 points.  Athlete will have 60 seconds to accumulate as many points as possible by lifting the sandbags to shoulder.  Only one sandbag may be lifted at a time.  Athlete may start at any sandbag and lift in any pattern or order they would like to accumulate the most points possible.  You can attempt a bag as many times as you like during your 60 second time limit.

- A good lift will be given once the sandbag is firmly rested upon the athlete’s shoulder and the secondary arm is clear off and out to the side, showing full control of the implement.

Not allowed: Tacky

Allowed: Chalk, belts, wraps, and sleeves.
