General Event Information:
Weigh-ins will be held October 9th from 3-6p and day of 7-8a.
Rules meeting will be held at 8:30 am.
Spectator fee $10, kids 12 and under are free.Â
Parking will be available at the gravel parking lot just south of the gym as well as the grass area connected to the gravel lot. Please do not park along the gym, those will be saved for members. Please DO NOT park anywhere else or you could get towed. Parking details will be found on the event social media pages.
Tents will be provided, but it will not be enough to accommodate everybody in attendance so feel free to bring your own tent and keep it off the street. Water and sunscreen will be available.
If you sign up after open registration closes (Sept. 19th), you may not get an event t-shirt.
This year portions of the proceeds from registration and spectator fees will go to Rescue Rehab Rehome of Grimes, IA. A nonprofit specializing in getting stray or surrendered dogs into loving homes. Additional donations will be welcomed, and representatives from RRR might attend the event for an hour or two with adoptable puppies!Â
Membership:
This is a United States Strongman sanctioned event. Each athlete is required to hold a United States Strongman membership.
Weight Classes:
Based on registration, weight classes/divisions may be expanded or combined.
Events:
NO TACKY OR ANY STICKY SUBSTANCES ALLOWED. NO SUITS OR BRIEFS.
Tacky towels and grip spray are OK for Event #3
Single/double/triple-ply knee, elbow sleeves are OK for the events.
EVENTS/WEIGHTS MAY CHANGE
Event #1: Overhead Medley
60 second time limit. Axle, then log, then Circus Dumbbell for reps. Athlete will begin at the starting line, go up to the axle, clean and press. Then they will clean and press the log. Finally, athlete will clean and PRESS AWAY the CDB until time expires. Athlete must wait for the down command before moving onto the next implement, and they must complete the course in order. Resets on CDB are allowed. Completed reps for axle and log will include both feet together, elbows locked and head forward. CDB, athlete must demonstrate control of the weight overhead with feet together. NO tree topping, and ABSOLUTELY NO throwing the weights behind you. Reckless behavior will result in disqualification. Belt cleans OK. Resting weights on top of head NOT OK.

Event #2: Car Deadlift
Same format as the previous year.
60 second time limit. Side handles at approximately 12 inches from the ground. Car will be a compact car with weight added for different classes. Expect a weight equivalent of approximately 275 lbs (equivalent to approximately 255 alani cans) for novice women and 405 lbs (equivalent to approximately 375 alani cans)  for novice men, and then it going up from there for the following classes. On the ‘go’ command athlete must deadlift the car for as many reps as possible in 60 seconds. Each rep must be completed with knees and hips locked with shoulders back and then wait for ‘Down’ command.

Event #3: Sandbag/Sled Shuttle
75 second time limit. 30 foot course. Titan Power Sled (100lbs empty) Points A and B. Starting at Point A, run and pick up the first sandbag located at Point B, run it back to Point A and load onto to sled, PUSH sled back to Point B, run back to Point A and grab second sandbag, run sandbag and load onto sled at Point B adding to the first sandbag, PULL sled with both sandbags loaded back to starting point (Point A). It’s really not too confusing. Video walkthrough will be posted on socials.

Event #4: Odd Objects Loading Medley, Sponsored in part by Valkyrie Strength Club
60 second time limit. Head to head event. Four various objects lined up lightest to heaviest 20, 15, 10, and 5 ft from loading bar. Must start with the lightest object and work your way to the heaviest. Men’s bar height 52 inches, women’s bar height 48 inches. Objects will range from truck wheels, atlas stones, kegs, engine blocks, and a Valkyrie Strength Club Body Bag. The body bag is a rectangular shaped sandbag meant to replicate throwing somebody over your shoulder. (hint hint)

Event #5: Farmers Carry
60 Second time limit. 50 foot course. 14 in farmers handles. Athlete will start hands on implement. Carry 50 ft, drop/turn/repick, return carry 50ft, drop/turn/repick, and repeat as many times as possible in 60 seconds. TWO drops are allowed on the course. Front of implements must cross the line before dropping or else it will count as one of your drops. Dragging will end your time.
