BIG’N TIME BEAST BATTLE

         Rules Meeting will begin at 8:30 am.

Weigh-ins will be done the day before, Aug. 4, at 5:00 pm.

Awards will be given to the top three performers in each weight class. Each athlete will receive a meet shirt.

Events

Deadlift for Reps: Straps, briefs, suit, belt, double-belt, chalk are all allowed.  A barbell will be used for this lift. Full lockout is needed for good lift.  Down commands are needed from the judge.  Dropping the bar will result in disqualification.  As many reps as possible in one minute. Two platforms will be used.

Max Log Press: Each lifter will have three attempts to press their max weight. Log will start at 100 lbs and will go up 10 lbs incrementally; lifters will be allowed to jump in as their weight is loaded. Weight will not be removed once it is on the log. Lifter will clean and press after the start command and will have a maximum of one minute to press the implement and lock it out. Lift is good once the judge gives the down command.

Sledgehammer Hold: Lifter will hold out a 20 lb sledgehammer for a max time. All competitors will have their backs braced against the yoke implement and will begin when their arms are locked in a 90 degree angle from their body. One warning will be allotted to each lifter, time will pause and resume once the position is re-established, and the time will stop once arms have broken the locked position.

Farmer’s Hold: Lifter will hold two farmer’s carry implements. Time will start once the lifter fully stands with the objects. Time will end when either object touches the ground.

Yoke Carry: The yoke will start behind the line and need to completely finish over the line to be considered complete. The distance is fifty feet down and fifty feet back.  Two second penalty for sliding or early start. Multiple drops and picks are allowed. Soft and hard belts, knee and elbow sleeves are allowed. One minute to complete, the fastest time wins.  If unable to complete the full distance in one minute, Yoke will be measured to the back.

This is planned to be an outdoor event in the parking lot behind InReach Physical Therapy. Spectators are encouraged to bring chairs for seating.
