We’re bringing back the Deads!

FOUR max events this year, 2 over your head and two from the ground, dead. 

Event 1: Max Overhead Log Press

Weight will start at 75 pounds on a 10 inch steel log, and competitors will choose weight auction style. Three attempts, Wessels rule applies.  (You miss a lift, you're done). All weights 190 and above will be on the 12 inch diameter log.

Chalk and grip shirts are allowed.

Event 2: 18” Deadlift

Athletes will choose weights rising bar auction style, with 3 attempts.  (Wessels rule applies here as well).  We’ll use a Rogue Deadlift Bar from blocks.  Sorry, no Sumo stance for this one.

Allowed equipment:  Straps (regular or figure 8), chalk, belts

Not Allowed: deadlift suits, squat suits, hooks, hydraulic and pneumatic lifts, bears disguised as humans who have been trained in Strongman lifts

Event 3: Max Height Keg Toss

Three attempts to throw a keg overhead (and over a bar) for max height. Men will use a standard keg (empty, around 30-ish pounds) women will use a shortened keg or pony keg, which will be lighter (exact weight will be updated later)

Event 4: Max Time Farmer’s Hold

You’ll grab the handles of the big wooden farmers set and hold as long as you can. Metal handles, no knurling, 17 inch pickup height. Chalk is fine. No tacky or tacky-ish substances. No straps of any kind. No using any other body part to support the weight. Just pick them up and go to the happy place in your mind.

This contest is a qualifier for USS Nationals, make sure you get your 2025 membership.

Live Stream:

Family far away? Fear not - They can watch your competition live (for free!) on our One Way Strength Channel on YouTube. Laarni Mulvey of Athlete Ready Sideline Sports will be streaming with play by play and commentary. Your fans can ask her questions and wish you well, and the replay will be available for you to watch later or go over with your coach. 

Weigh-ins:

Early weigh-ins will be available at the One Way Strength clubhouse in St. Anne, IL

or you can weigh in Saturday just before the competition starts.

Parking & Spectators:

No spectator fee, free parking.  Bring all your friends and family to cheer you on!

Shirts

All athletes will be given competition shirts which must be worn during the contest.
